Sunbeam Community Development Corporation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 1989 with a longstanding focus on homeownership, housing assistance, and community development.
Who We Are
Sunbeam Community Development Corporation (SCDC) was created to help make the opportunity for homeownership more attainable for families and individuals who may face financial or housing barriers.
Today, SCDC is entering a renewed chapter. The organization is rebuilding its community presence and restarting its housing assistance mission, with programs being developed to support eligible households as funding and program guidelines are established.
Our History
Historical organizational materials describe SCDC as a community development organization focused on improving homeownership opportunities. Those materials report that, since 1993, SCDC helped more than 102 families purchase and own a home. This historical figure is presented as reported in organizational records.
Past materials also describe assistance involving second mortgage financing, closing costs, and grants for families with special needs.
