As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 1989, SCDC is committed to expanding homeownership opportunities, connecting families with housing resources, and strengthening the communities we serve in Miami-Dade County and throughout Florida.
WHAT WE DO
Our mission begins with home.
Sunbeam Community Development Corporation was created around a simple idea: the opportunity to own a home can provide a family with stability, dignity, and a foundation for the future.
Our historical work focused on helping families overcome barriers to homeownership. Organizational materials describe housing financial assistance, grants, closing-cost assistance, and second-mortgage programs for qualifying applicants.
As SCDC renews its community presence across Miami-Dade County and throughout Florida, our goal is to build on that foundation through housing education, community partnerships, outreach, and programs that respond to the needs of the people we serve.

Historical SCDC materials report that more than 102 families were helped to purchase and own a home beginning in 1993. We are preserving that history while building the next chapter of the organization.
